Floral Symphony

Design

Flowers were one of the earliest things I painted when I started my first out-of-school art class.

Combining both illustration and graphic design, this project showcases some of my biggest interests: flowers, classical music, and american impressionism.

Sheet music is the graphic language everyone uses to communicate sound. Taking notes from its visual cues, the illustrated elements maintain the balance of negative space, strokes, and fills.

Furthermore, with the juxtaposition of Childe Hassam’s The Water Garden, the texture and color it brings adds an extra layer of abundance.

Continuing the thought, I wanted to focus on each flower and its relationship to music. By combining them within the world of sheet music, bordered by ornate, floral frames, the project evolved into this secondary set of images.
